At work looking for new wallpapers for my desktop.

I want something arty but all that comes up is pictures of boobs. Boobs are nice but, can't there be more art? Like a ratio of 10 bits of Art to bit of boob?

Ron Smids gallery in Whistler is AMAZING!

All his work is analogue. Shot on large format and printed in the darkroom by a master colour printer (the very same who did Ansel Adams work in the 1980's).
His Cibachrome prints are truly inspiring and a real eye opener. To see the prints in real life is like looking at the real thing. The colours are bold (but not fake) and there is most certainly a 3D feel to the images.
His work is very well composed. Some of his images have taken days, months or even years to capture because he's gone back and reshot the locations until he perfected it. Now that is the true patience and skill of a true artist and photographer!

Digital should not have replaced film!

So have been in Whistler since January. Worked as a photographer for a bit, photographing ski school kids and people up on the mountain. Was a fun job but arduous at times.

So glad it's coming into summer, going to get some great shots of this place. Theres so many tucked away spots to photograph.
Hope I see a bear.

Staying in Banff for the next two months!
Canada is amazing.
Went out yesterday and photographed some cool places along a trail. The mountains looming above me, forests engulfing me and all the while I keep a look out for bears!
Saw no bears. Though there were a lot of squirrels! They run skittishly along fallen trees, leaping along with pine cones in their mouths.
I don't bother trying to photograph them, I focus my efforts on the more stationary subjects, like the mountains!

I love this place. I can't wait for the snow to fall, I'm gonna go back and see how much its changed.

Currently doing a photo a day for 365 days.
Its great coz it inspires me to go out and get at least one decent photo, even if I can't be stuffed. I should post them up. But internet is slower than the line into hell.

I really should also get out and see more of the surrounding country side...sick of being stuck in the city. Getting very over it.
All the Gold Coast does have some ok places to visit, I just miss fresh air and cows and vacantness!
